Angelina Jolie's World Humanitarian Day Message

Angelina Jolie's been a longtime crusader for those who need the most help, so it seems fitting that Angelina Jolie made special note of yesterday's (August 19) observance of World Humanitarian Day.

Of the day dedicated to recognize humanitarian personnel and those who have lost their lives working for humanitarian causes, the 37-year-old actress posted a message on Facebook commenting on it's importance.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina, who has dutifully offered her services to the UN Special Envoys as of late, finished by writing, “I had the honor and the pleasure of meeting one of these brave individuals before his murder during a visit to Pakistan, where I witnessed first-hand the incredible devotion of a very kind and gentle man. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Set to Say "I Do" on Sunday

It all began on the set of their film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and now Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are said to be slated to tie the knot this weekend in the South of France.

Four years ago, the couple purchased the 17th-century Chateau Miraval. The 35-room estate near the French village of Correns will likely host the Hollywood wedding, according to a range of reports.

Brad Pitt

The 48-year-old stud and his 37-year-old wife-to-be apparently were scheduled to exchange vows last weekend, but it's claimed that plans changed when alterations to the Chateau weren’t finished.

According to the mayor of Correns, Mickeal Latz, the wedding is “more likely” to occur tomorrow (August 19). On Sunday (August 12), he said, “It's a far more likely date. There are no plans for a civil wedding in Correns this weekend.”

When it comes to nuptial details, Miss Jolie has apparently asked her 39-year-old brother James Haven to give her away despite reconciling with her father, Jon Voight. Also on the guest list are Brad’s parents, Bill and Jane, along with his brother Doug and sister Julie.

Fellow celebrities likely to attend the grand wedding include George Clooney, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise. Angelina’s uncle, singer-songwriter Chip Taylor, has been invited, along with her godparents, British actress Jacqueline Bisset and Austrian actor Maximilian Schell.

Still, one of the best kept secrets is who designed the bride’s wedding dress. According to reports, the brunette beauty had several meetings with L’Wren Scott, but we’ll have to wait and see!

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie: Gearing Up for Nuptials?

Everyone is waiting for them to finally say "I Do," and it seems Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may be walking down the aisle this weekend.

According to a report, the Jolie-Pitt-owned Chateau Miraval in France has been buzzing with event preparations and guests are already arriving from all over the world.

An insider told press, “Brad flew in to oversee preparations but they’re all here now. They say it's for Jane and Bill, but some think this could be it. Even Angelina's private jeweler is here."

However, Deputy Culture Secretary Patrick Mareschi claims his office hasn't been informed of any wedding. “We don't know anything about it. Under French law couples have to get married at the town hall. Unlike with a religious wedding, there's no way a couple can hold a civil ceremony at their own home."

Angelina Jolie's Rumored Mother-In-Law Dispute

It’s no secret that in-laws can be tricky, and even though Angelina Jolie isn’t yet married to Brad Pitt, rumor has it her would-be mother-in-law Jane is already driving her crazy.

According to a report, the “Changeling” chic
k threw a fit when she discovered that Mama Pitt purchased girlie clothes for her daughter Shiloh, as the girl prefers to dress as a tomboy.

Angelina Jolie

Per the rumor, Ang can’t believe Jane would try to force her daughter to wear the uber-feminine garb, given that Shiloh is well-known to love dressing like her brothers.

An insider claims, “It's well documented that Shiloh likes to dress like a boy. But Jane still insists on buying her fairy costumes and princess dresses, which Angelina finds very disrespectful.”

Additionally, Jane also rubbed Ang the wrong way when she wrote a letter urging Americans to vote against President Barack Obama, citing his recently-changed view in favor of gay marriage.

Mrs. Pitt declared, “Any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.”

The “Maleficent” beauty was spotted wearing her $500,000 bling that was co-designed by jeweler Robert Procop along with her future hubby.

The couple still have not determined a timeline for their marriage and, back in May, Pitt said, “We actually, really and truly, have no date,” adding, "It's just something that makes sense to us, and certainly date-wise, it's just a rumor. We're still hoping that we can figure out marriage equality in the states before that date."

Angelina Jolie: Not Maleficent at Home

It’s no secret that tabloids love to target Angelina Jolie, and the latest rumors are more ridiculous than ever.

Angelina Jolie

Per a National Enquirer story, the “Changeling” chick is supposedly staying in her “Maleficent” character when she goes home from the set, and that’s “scaring the wits out of her kids.”

One supposed insider allegedly told the rag, “On the film set in London, she wears terrifying makeup and huge horns, which is a frightening prospect for anyone. But she’s also been taking her ‘Maleficent’ role home to the rental mansion where she and Brad Pitt are staying with their brood.”

“When she first showed up wearing a long gown and reciting her lines like her super-nasty character, they thought it was funny. But now it’s just creeping them out!” the source added.

Of course, the whole story is completely bogus, with a friend of the family stating that Jolie is doing just fine leaving work at work, and would never do such a thing to hurt her beloved brood.

Angelina Jolie’s five most fascinating quotes

Angelina Jolie has gone through a lot of phases in her life — gothic teen, bride of Billy Bob Thornton, and today, mom of six, A-list actress and humanitarian, always stirring up buzz along the way. As one of America's most famous women turns 37 on June 4, omg! brings you five of the most honest, odd, and outrageous things she's ever uttered.

Angelina Jolie at the 2012 Oscars

On the vial of then-husband's Billy Bob Thornton's blood she once wore around her neck: "It's my husband's blood … which is beautiful to me, you know? Some people like diamonds around their necks or things like that. I think that's beautiful. And it makes me, it's his life." — MSNBC interview with Ann Curry, June 2001. Jolie later admitted that the vial was really filled with a piece of paper stained with a tiny bit of blood, but it sure did seem weird back then. She abruptly took it off when the two split in 2002.

Jolie and ex Billy Bob Thornton On receiving her Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Girl Interrupted": "I'm in shock. And I'm so in love with my brother right now, he just held me and said he loved me." — Jolie's acceptance speech at the 2000 Academy Awards. Sure, we all love our siblings, but the term "in love," coupled with her smooching her brother, James Haven, on the lips in front of cameras on the same night, threw the public for a loop, and the speech has dogged her ever since.

On being paired with Brad Pitt for the film "Mr. and Mrs. Smith": "It's actually a very funny combination. My opinion of marriage comes from a very cynical place, so the question 'Do you want to kill your spouse?' is a serious thing. And he comes from a place of 'What a funny idea, to kill the person you're married to,' because he has a happy marriage." — Vogue, March 2004. Today, of course, this comment seems especially fascinating considering that the "happy marriage" between Pitt and his then-wife Jennifer Aniston ended within a year of this interview, and he then coincidentally struck up a relationship with Jolie. Eight years later, the couple is raising six children together and is engaged to be married.

Jolie and Brad Pitt on the Mr. and Mrs. Smith set

On not being the touchy-feely type: "It's not going to accomplish anything to cry. It's not going to help you to get a hug! I'm not a hugger. People make fun of me. It's something that I have a hard time with. If someone hugs me, I hold my breath. Snuggling, cuddling, hugging, crying - all that stuff makes me very uncomfortable." — Vogue, January 2007. Based on this tidbit, any and all hugs must have a strict time limit, lest the Oscar winner pass out due to a lack of oxygen.

On her appearance: "I am odd-looking. I sometimes think I look like a funny Muppet." — Unknown. We can't verify to whom she said this, but Angelina, trust me, you look nothing like a Muppet.

The "Mr and Mrs Smith" co-stars looked stunning on the red carpet with Jolie in a form flattering floor-length Ralph & Russo dress while Brad opted for the traditional black and white tuxedo.

Earlier in the day, Ms Jolie offered up some information about her plan to write a new piece about the conflict in Afghanistan.

"I did write something on Afghanistan. Nobody's seen it yet," she told and then added, "Brad hasn't seen it. It's hidden. So I don't know how very good it is, but it's been a pleasure to write."
