There’s no denying he’s one of the most
desired men on the globe, and Brad Pitt lends his hotness to Chanel for their
new No. 5 fragrance ad campaign.
In the newly-released 30-second clip, the
“Fight Club” stud gazes into the camera while lulling ladies into a trance with
his soothing voice.
Pitt chatted about his experience working
with Chanel on the new initiative during a recent interview.
“What’s important to remember about
Chanel N°5 is how revolutionary this fragrance is; when it was introduced, it
broke all the rules.”
“N°5 has always been the most iconic
women’s fragrance. That’s what I see being the appeal of this campaign; it goes
beyond the abstract of emotion or beauty to evoke what is timeless: a woman’s
spirit.”
With his new movie "Killing Them Softly"
set to hit theaters on November 30, Brad Pitt garnered himself a little added
exposure by covering the November 2012 issue of Interview magazine.
The 48-year-old actor looked handsome as
he suited up for the Steven Klein shot spread while talking about topics
including his acting career and his passion to be behind the camera.
On choosing his films:
"Yeah. I mean, as you know, so much of
making movies is about discovery on the day, what you're figuring out. If you
know everything going in, then it's not worth doing—it's already done. So I'm
interested in finding people who I think have a voice—and a very specific voice.
It's hard to be surprised by a film. It's hard to be surprised by another actor
or by a director when you've seen enough and been around. So when I am, or when
I forget that I'm watching someone's movie, or when I don't know how someone
made a certain turn that I didn't expect . You know, I'm in."
On using different dialects in his
work:
"Well, you know, I like a bit of song,
and dialect is a song. I'm most comfortable with the Southern dialects, really.
It's easy, for example, for me to do Irish because we've got Irish heritage
where I come from. We also have some German heritage. The Upper East Coast,
though, is a little bit more connected to a British heritage."
On his producing career:
"Yeah. I'd rather be behind the camera.
As a producer, obviously, you're part of a team that brings the story to the
screen. It wouldn't be there if you didn't champion it or if you and a group of
people weren't championing it. I like that."
It all began on the set of their film
“Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and now Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are said to be slated
to tie the knot this weekend in the South of France.
Four years ago, the couple purchased the
17th-century Chateau Miraval. The 35-room estate near the French village of
Correns will likely host the Hollywood wedding, according to a range of
reports.
The 48-year-old stud and his 37-year-old
wife-to-be apparently were scheduled to exchange vows last weekend, but it's
claimed that plans changed when alterations to the Chateau weren’t
finished.
According to the mayor of Correns,
Mickeal Latz, the wedding is “more likely” to occur tomorrow (August 19). On
Sunday (August 12), he said, “It's a far more likely date. There are no plans
for a civil wedding in Correns this weekend.”
When it comes to nuptial details, Miss
Jolie has apparently asked her 39-year-old brother James Haven to give her away
despite reconciling with her father, Jon Voight. Also on the guest list are
Brad’s parents, Bill and Jane, along with his brother Doug and sister
Julie.
Fellow celebrities likely to attend the
grand wedding include George Clooney, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise.
Angelina’s uncle, singer-songwriter Chip Taylor, has been invited, along with
her godparents, British actress Jacqueline Bisset and Austrian actor Maximilian
Schell.
Still, one of the best kept secrets is
who designed the bride’s wedding dress. According to reports, the brunette
beauty had several meetings with L’Wren Scott, but we’ll have to wait and
see!
Unable to take in the Olympics spectacle
nearby, Brad Pitt was found working hard on the set of "The Counselor" in London
Today (August 4).
The "Fight Club" star sported a tiny
ponytail with his all gray suit and white dress shirt, complete with brown
briefcase.
Directed by "Alien" helmsman Ridley
Scott, the film stars the 48-year-old hunk as an attorney who finds himself over
his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking. Cast members include Michael
Fassbender, John Leguizamo, Cameron Diaz, Penélope Cruz, and Javier
Bardem.
Before you see Pitt as an attorney,
however, you can see him as a thuggish enforcer charged with investigating a
robbery during a mob-protected poker game in "Killing Them Softly."
A new sneak peak trailer for the flick
has just been released in which Pitt's character, Jackie Cogan, explains his
preferred method. " You ever killed anyone? They cry, they plead, they call for
their mothers. I like to kill them softly, from a distance."
Everyone is waiting for them to finally
say "I Do," and it seems Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may be walking down the
aisle this weekend.
According to a report, the
Jolie-Pitt-owned Chateau Miraval in France has been buzzing with event
preparations and guests are already arriving from all over the world.
An insider told press, “Brad flew in to
oversee preparations but they’re all here now. They say it's for Jane and Bill,
but some think this could be it. Even Angelina's private jeweler is
here."
However, Deputy Culture Secretary Patrick
Mareschi claims his office hasn't been informed of any wedding. “We don't know
anything about it. Under French law couples have to get married at the town
hall. Unlike with a religious wedding, there's no way a couple can hold a civil
ceremony at their own home."
Talent obviously runs in the family as
proved after Brad Pitt's brother lit up the small screen in a new viral
video.
Doug Pitt was recently featured in an
Australian TV spot while doing a hilarious commercial for Virgin Mobile and the
"second most famous Pitt" can be seen doing "normal" everyday tasks such as
mowing the lawn and showing off his "sporty" and "stylish" minivan.
The real estate developer, who is a
married father of three, has been getting lots of positive feedback for his role
after the video hit the internet on Tuesday .
The commercial is all part of Virgin
Mobile's "fair go for all" campaign, which focuses on highlighting the average
"Joe's" by putting them in the spotlight.
Making a trip overseas, Brad Pitt and
Angelina Jolie visited members of the 1-200th Infantry Battalion in
Egypt.
The couple stopped by to pose for
pictures and spend time with the troops, which posted a photo on its Facebook
page with the caption, "While visiting Luxor on a Morale and Welfare trip,
members from the MFO, to include 1-200th Soldiers, had the opportunity to meet
and take photos with actor Brad Pitt and actress Angelina Jolie."
In other news, rumors surfaced that the
brunette stunner was in talks to direct the film adaptation of the steamy novel,
"Fifty Shades of Grey ?"
Sources for the 37-year-old actress shot
the gossip down saying, “there haven’t been any talks with [the] studio. There
is nothing to these reports but bogus speculation."
Angelina Jolie has gone through a lot of
phases in her life — gothic teen, bride of Billy Bob Thornton, and today, mom of
six, A-list actress and humanitarian, always stirring up buzz along the way. As
one of America's most famous women turns 37 on June 4, omg! brings you five of
the most honest, odd, and outrageous things she's ever uttered.
On the vial of then-husband's Billy Bob
Thornton's blood she once wore around her neck: "It's my husband's blood … which
is beautiful to me, you know? Some people like diamonds around their necks or
things like that. I think that's beautiful. And it makes me, it's his life." —
MSNBC interview with Ann Curry, June 2001. Jolie later admitted that the vial
was really filled with a piece of paper stained with a tiny bit of blood, but it
sure did seem weird back then. She abruptly took it off when the two split in
2002.
On receiving her Best Supporting Actress
Oscar for "Girl Interrupted": "I'm in shock. And I'm so in love with my brother
right now, he just held me and said he loved me." — Jolie's acceptance speech at
the 2000 Academy Awards. Sure, we all love our siblings, but the term "in love,"
coupled with her smooching her brother, James Haven, on the lips in front of
cameras on the same night, threw the public for a loop, and the speech has
dogged her ever since.
On being paired with Brad Pitt for the
film "Mr. and Mrs. Smith": "It's actually a very funny combination. My opinion
of marriage comes from a very cynical place, so the question 'Do you want to
kill your spouse?' is a serious thing. And he comes from a place of 'What a
funny idea, to kill the person you're married to,' because he has a happy
marriage." — Vogue, March 2004. Today, of course, this comment seems especially
fascinating considering that the "happy marriage" between Pitt and his then-wife
Jennifer Aniston ended within a year of this interview, and he then
coincidentally struck up a relationship with Jolie. Eight years later, the
couple is raising six children together and is engaged to be married.
On not being the touchy-feely type: "It's
not going to accomplish anything to cry. It's not going to help you to get a
hug! I'm not a hugger. People make fun of me. It's something that I have a hard
time with. If someone hugs me, I hold my breath. Snuggling, cuddling, hugging,
crying - all that stuff makes me very uncomfortable." — Vogue, January 2007.
Based on this tidbit, any and all hugs must have a strict time limit, lest the
Oscar winner pass out due to a lack of oxygen.
On her appearance: "I am odd-looking. I
sometimes think I look like a funny Muppet." — Unknown. We can't verify to whom
she said this, but Angelina, trust me, you look nothing like a
Muppet.
Stepping out as a picturesque Hollywood
couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt attended the Cinema for Peace Gala at the
Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany on Monday.
The "Mr and Mrs Smith" co-stars looked
stunning on the red carpet with Jolie in a form flattering floor-length Ralph
& Russo dress while Brad opted for the traditional black and white
tuxedo.
Earlier in the day, Ms Jolie offered up
some information about her plan to write a new piece about the conflict in
Afghanistan.
"I did write something on Afghanistan.
Nobody's seen it yet," she told and then added, "Brad hasn't seen it. It's
hidden. So I don't know how very good it is, but it's been a pleasure to
write."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have set up
home in the UK as they film back to back projects in the country and are said to
be very excited about the upcoming Diamond Jubilee celebrations that will sweep
the country this weekend and are looking forward to joining in with the locals
for a very British party.
Currently the famous family are based in
Richmond, London and have done some research as to what exactly is happening in
their area and may well be paying a visit to a street party of two.
"Brad and Angelina love England and have
been made to feel very welcome in Richmond. They want to fully embrace the
Jubilee celebrations. The kids are very excited," a source told Grazia
Magazine.
The couple have reportedly bought tickets
for a tea party being held near their home which is promising traditional
British games like tug-of-war, cricket and a cake baking contest.
"Brad and Angelina are aware of the
celebrations. They have had information sent to them and have shown an
interest," an insider revealed.
News from the Internet.Thank you for your

Having last teamed up back in 2005, it is
being reported that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may join forces on the big
screen, once more.
According to Deadline, the Hollywood
power couple both are attached to star in director Ridley Scott's next film
titled "The Counselor".
The movie is about "a lawyer who finds
himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking."
With filming slated to get underway in
late June, Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem and Jeremy Renner are all currently
attached to the blockbuster project.
Brad Pitt's always a festival favorite,
and Brad Pitt was in fine form as he attended the 65th Cannes Film Festival
premiere of his new movie "Killing Them Softly" on May 22 .
Joined by his costars, the "Mr. and Mrs.
Smith" star looked dapper as he worked his magic on the fans and paparazzi
outside the Palais des Festivals prior to the screening.
Making for quite the site to be seen,
other celebrities packing the glitzy red carpet included a red hot Irina Shayk
and her model gal pal Karolina Kurkova, as well as Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson,
Sean "Diddy" Combs, tennis ace Novak Djokovic, Kelly Brook, Alec Baldwin,
Cassie, Michelle Rodriguez and Jeremy Irons.
When asked if he was concerned about the
level of violence in the film and its affect on his kids, Brad explained, "Not
at all. Violence is an accepted part of the gangster world. I'd have a harder
time playing a racist than some guy who shoots another guy in the
face."
Pitt added, "Ever seen them butcher a cow
for hamburger? It's incredibly brutal and violent. We live in a very violent
world."
Heading out to raise much-needed funds as the rebuilding
efforts pushes forth, Brad Pitt was joined by Angelina Jolie at the Hyatt
Regency in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday night .
The Hollywood power couple turned up at the locale so
that the "Moneyball" actor could team up with Ellen DeGeneres to co-host the
charity fete titled "A Night to Make It Right".
The sold-out gala cost attendees between $1,000 and
$2,500 with the festivities including gourmet cuisine along with a concert
featuring a lineup of Rihanna, Sheryl Crow, Seal and Dr. John.
With other stars joining in on the money raising efforts
including Sean Penn, Spike Lee, Josh Brolin and Kevin Spacey, the star-studded
affair also boasts an afterparty with actor-comedian Aziz Ansari playing host
while Kanye West, Snoop Dogg and the Soul Rebels are among those taking the
stage.
Talking to Reuters about whether it was difficult to get
big names to come to New Orleans, Pitt laughingly replied, "Even though these
people don't like me that much, it really was simple."
"They carved this time out of their schedule strictly
for this event, and came on their own dime," he added. "We have so much
incredible talent that wanted to come and support the city - it's going to be
like a mini-Grammys show."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's engagement
could be a long one! A month after the actor slipped a custom-designed diamond
ring on his lady love's finger, he says they aren't rushing to the
altar.
"We actually really, truly have no date,"
Pitt, who is promoting his new gangster flick "Killing Them Softly," said at a
press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. And they're not
abandoning their previous position that they would like same-sex marriage to be
legalized before they take the plunge. "We're still hoping that we can figure
out marriage equalit
As for why, after seven years and six
kids together, they decided to get engaged, Pitt said it was all about the
timing. "It's just something that makes sense to us," he noted.
Pitt, who was casually dressed for the
event in a grey suit and white T-shirt and sported a goatee, said he's flying
solo at Cannes this year because Jolie, who is getting ready to shoot
"Maleficent," is too busy to attend. "She's actually not here right now," he
said. "She's prepping for a movie she starts very soon."
But she was a frequent topic of
conversation. Pitt was also asked if he and Jolie, who fell in love on the set
of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" when he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, would
costar in another movie. He replied: "Yeah, we'd love to." Although it was
rumored that collaboration would take place in "The Counselor," it now looks
like Cameron Diaz will be playing the part instead.
In Pitt's upcoming crime thriller
"Killing Them Softly," he plays Jackie Cogan, who is a professional enforcer
called in to investigate a heist that went down during a mob-protected poker
game. Ray Liotta also stars and Andrew Dominik directs.
The moment finally came! Brad Pitt
proposed to Angelina Jolie after seven years of dating and six
children.
Many thought that the moment would never
arrive, but those who followed Brangelina's love story remained hopeful and got
their wish.
Seven years after the most talked about
affair in Tinseltown, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have confirmed they are
indeed engaged and - although it might be hailed the most anticipated celebrity
wedding of all time - there is one celebrity who doesn't care to hear any of the
details.
Brad's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston has been
rumored to still have feelings for the actor over the years, but it seems to not
be the case anymore.
Upon learning about the engagement, an
Aniston pal assured E! News, "She doesn't care. She really doesn't. She's happy
with Justin [Theroux]. She'll probably marry him. She's moved on. People don't
want to believe it, but she has."
Aniston was reportedly at home when she
found out Brangelina are set to wed, as another source revealed, "She was happy
and hanging out with her man".
It seems the 43-year-old actress has
really been enjoying her year long relationship with Theroux, and she recently
opened up about their relationship, telling Australia's Marie Claire, "He's a
protector, for sure, he's just a good human being, and so funny."
After a momentous announcement that Brad Pitt proposed to his longtime girlfriend and mother of his children, Angelina
Jolie the powerhouse actor is back to focusing on his film projects as he took
over the cover of the May 2012 issue of GQ India magazine.
The 48-year-old actor looks suave and
sexy for the Mario Sorrenti photo shoot while Karan Jain gushed about the star's
momentous career over throughout the years.
Featured in "The Kings of Hollywood”
section, the "Moneyball" actor is praised not taking "the easy way out" of roles
and described as an actor that "can be smooth and charming, but also troubled
and confused."
He joins fellow 'Kings of Hollywood'
A-listers Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney; both described as out-of-the
ordinary stars who remain timeless and intriguing.
Past models for the famous women's
fragrance have included movie stars Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou, and Vanessa
Paradis. But a man?
Though the decision marks a break from
tradition, it's in keeping with Chanel's long-running ad campaign in that it not
only trades on Pitt's unimpeachable seductiveness (twice confirmed by People
magazine's Sexiest Man Alive cover), but also brings to mind his equally
glamorous partner, Angelina Jolie. In part, " this is a way of saying Angelina
Jolie without saying Angelina Jolie," says William M. O' Barr, professor of
cultural anthropology at Duke University and author of ADText, an online
textbook about advertising and society. "What's true about Chanel spokespeople
is they are people with classic beauty, and I think this is Brad Pitt's charm
here."
"There is also the implication that the
fabulous Ms. Jolie might use the perfume, and thus be worthy of emulation," says
Sidney J. Levy, professor of marketing at the University of Arizona. "While it
is a cliche to say [women] really dress for other women," Levy adds, "they
surely care about how they smell to men."
Pitt is not the first man to sell women's
products. Bob Dylan appeared in a Victoria's Secret (LTD)ad in 2004. In India,
women's soap brand Lux (UN) ran an ad featuring Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan in
a bathtub filled with flower petals and surrounded by four actresses. "The novel
commercial was an enormous success both because viewers liked it and because the
press gave it an extraordinary amount of publicity," according to
ADText.
O' Barr says part of advertising is
breaking through the clutter. "Someday someone might ask me, why is that gorilla
coming down the staircase with underwear in its mouth? I'll say it's the shock
value of it all. That's perhaps the most important thing going on here.
Attention and publicity. It works beautifully."
Pitt has also appeared in ads for Levi's
jeans, Heineken, Tag Heuer, as well as commercials in Japan, according to IMDb.
Chanel will pay Pitt seven figures, reported People, and the perfumer's first
television ad featuring Pitt will be released overseas later this
year.
